PC Video Cards

There exists an enormous medley of video cards readily available for just about any PC that you may own. This huge collection of graphics cards found on the marketplace today is a gamer’s paradise. Most cards support the majority of game requirements however with the more graphic intense applications and games out there today higher requirements are being placed upon the cards.

While you can be certain that if you are searching for the latest video cards which are supporting the most recent technology you are looking at somewhat expensive option. But if you do not have hundreds of dollars to spend from the family budget do not be discouraged as there are still plenty of good cards to select from. In this article we will mention a few of these particular cards. Everyone is encouraged to conduct some research on there own when planning to purchase a new card as the market for these items are continually changing. The cards that are mentioned here are of good value for the money and should be capable of being used with the majority of applications and game software

Foremost on the list is the Nvidia GeForce model GTX 295. This video card was created as competition for the ATI's dual GPU Radeon models HD 4870 X2, The GTX 295 is actually a pair of GTX 260 GPUs which are running in the SLI mode within the confines of a single card. These chips present a 240 stream processor rather than 216. Although the GTX 295 can easily take the top performer spot as far as operation is concerned it certainly is not cheap.

On a similar note you have the Nvidia GeForce model GTX 285 which has basically launched a new era of video cards. This model is a true graphics power station leading the pack with a single GPU game performance. Although the price is a bit better for the consumer then the model 280 it is still quite expensive.

The ATI Radeon model HD 4870 X2 actually has dual GPU cards. It consists of two HD 4870 graphics processors complete with a 2 GB onboard memory. This video card tends to show favoritism towards certain games but its overall performance is very commendable. Keep in mind that with any dual GPU card the power consumption is increased drastically.

Another entry into the video card ring is the ATI Radeon model HD 4870. This unit is not quite as fast as the others on most game plays but tends to pack a lot more raw computing power. It is built upon the 55 nm process and the best part is that it is relatively affordable. At its current pricing this is a great value for gamers.

The last entry to be covered here is the Nvidia GeForce model 9600 GT. This video card was designed for the mid-market price range. It has only half as much of the stream processors as you would find in the 8800 GT but it really has a very powerful chipset considering the price of the card. It typically has 512 MB of memory plus runs at a clock speed of approximately 650 MHz of which it can easily be over-clocked.
